چکیده
We demonstrate a novel method to optically tune the pulse advancement and delay based on stimulated Raman gain in hydrogen. With frequency-chirped pump, generated signal is selectively amplified at leading or trailing edge of pump pulse, depending whether frequency difference between beam blue red detuned from transition, which results peak. Different slow/fast light, where are accompanied with power loss gain, respectively, for single resonance, both realized region here. piece 48-mm-long optical nanofiber hydrogen, time-shift peak ranging 3.7 ?3.7 ns achieved Raman-generated width .

Manipulating Impulsive Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy with a Chirped Probe Pulse.
Photophysical and photochemical processes are often dominated by molecular vibrations in various electronic states. Dissecting the corresponding, often overlapping, spectroscopic signals from different electronic states is a challenge hampering their interpretation. Here we address impulsive stimulated Raman spectroscopy (ISRS), a powerful technique able to coherently stimulate and record Raman...
متن کاملLow frequency Raman gain measurements using chirped pulses.
Two-beam coupling, attributed to Raman gain, is observed in dielectrics using chirped femtosecond pulses. A time resolved pump-probe geometry is used to vary the frequency difference between pulses in the terahertz frequency band. Stimulated Raman scattering couples the pulses transferring energy from the higher to the lower frequency beam, resulting in a dispersion shaped curve as a function o...
متن کاملHyperspectral imaging with stimulated Raman scattering by chirped femtosecond lasers.
Raman microscopy is a quantitative, label-free, and noninvasive optical imaging technique for studying inhomogeneous systems. However, the feebleness of Raman scattering significantly limits the use of Raman microscopy to low time resolutions and primarily static samples. Recent developments in narrowband stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy have significantly increased the acquisition ...
متن کاملChirped pulse Raman amplification in plasma
Raman amplification in plasma has been proposed to be a promising method of amplifying short radiation pulses. Here, we investigate chirped pulse Raman amplification (CPRA) where the pump pulse is chirped and leads to spatiotemporal distributed gain, which exhibits superradiant scaling in the linear regime, usually associated with the nonlinear pump depletion and Compton amplification regimes. ...
متن کاملTunable stimulated Raman scattering by pumping with Bessel beams.
We report on a novel pumping scheme for stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) that uses a Bessel beam. We have used this scheme for SRS from molecular vibrations in acetone and from a polariton mode in a LiIO(3) crystal. A nearly diffraction-limited Stokes beam was observed along the cone axis of the Bessel beam. The generation mechanism of the Stokes beam is identified as being due to noncollinear...
